Just when you thought AI couldn’t get thirstier, xAI (yes, Elon’s chaos-fueled AI company) has launched a new companion powered by their latest language model, Grok 4, and her name is Ani. She’s blonde, lace-clad, and built for flirting. Think: Alexa, but if she watched too much hentai and had zero HR department.
Grok 4 was released on July 9 and is being positioned as a direct rival to ChatGPT—except with a side of NSFW anime fantasy. To even access Grok 4 (and Ani), you’ve gotta cough up $30/month for SuperGrok, or go full Simp Supreme with $300/month for SuperGrok Heavy. Yikes.
But what do you get for that price? Enter: Companions, a brand new feature inside the Grok app. These aren’t your average clunky chatbot friends. They’re flirty, voice-enabled, and come with… animations. Yep. Ani talks, texts, and throws back NSFW vibes straight out of a fanservice fever dream. Lace thigh-highs, pigtails, black lingerie—the whole “anime waifu but make it AI” aesthetic.
For more details, check out @TheVerge‘s short review—she’s convinced no amount of hot water could cleanse her after testing Ani.
Naturally, Twitter/X is melting down. Some are side-eyeing the whole thing as peak Silicon Valley cringe. Others? They’re already posting screenshotted convos like she’s their cyber GF with anime-level rizz. “Digital intimacy” has officially entered its weird era.
And it’s not stopping there. Elon says a male version named Valentine is on the way. Expect boyfriend-core energy with a dash of dystopia.
Whether you’re into it or running for the digital hills, one thing’s clear: AI isn’t just getting smarter. It’s getting way, way weirder.
