When we dreamed up GLAZECORE, we knew our first-ever interview had to be with someone unapologetic, daring, and dripping with personality. Enter Tashi Gyanee, lawyer by day, fashion rebel by night, and content creator who’s rewriting the rules of self-expression. Her Instagram, @tashiroshann, is a kaleidoscope of moods, risk-taking silhouettes, and Bollywood-meets-Blair-Waldorf fantasy.
Below, Tashi sits down with us for an exclusive chat about rebellion, style, and the power of dressing like every street is your runway.
1. Can you tell us a little about your story and how your love for fashion started?
My love affair with fashion began long before Instagram, back in my small-town days when I was very young and obsessed with Bollywood magazines. I was mesmerized by actresses in dramatic gowns, smoky eyes, and bold lipsticks. I come from what used to be a small town, and being a fashion enthusiast wasn’t exactly celebrated. But I vividly remember every time someone commented, “You’re not going to a fashion show,” I’d rebel by dressing as if I was. Today, even as a lawyer with a demanding professional life, I never let the seriousness of my work stop me from making fearless fashion choices.
2. What inspired you to begin posting your outfits and lifestyle online?
Fashion has always been my language, a form of self-expression. Posting online felt like opening a diary where I could share not just my outfits but also my experiments, my moods, and my quirks. It wasn’t about “dressing right” or following trends; it was more about creating something personal and putting it out into the world. And honestly, the idea that my style might inspire someone else to push boundaries in their own way… is magical.
3. How would you describe your style in three words?
Non-conformist. Playful. Moody.
4. What’s one fashion risk you’re proud you took?
As someone with an hourglass shape, people always say I should stick to fitted silhouettes and bodycon styles. But I love rebelling against that “rulebook.” I often reach for oversized overalls, boxy layers, and flat shapes that completely hide my curves. It feels powerful to wear something that isn’t about highlighting a body type but about pure creativity and comfort.
5. If you could swap closets with any fashion icon for a day, who would it be?
This may come off as a cliché… but Blair Waldorf. She’s the undisputed queen of layering and mixing textures with elegance. Her closet is basically a crash course in how to be polished, playful, and dramatic, all at once.
6. Where do you see yourself and your content in 5 years?
In five years, I see my content evolving into something you can’t put into a neat box. I want to make fashion that sparks emotion – whether it makes you smile, question, or just feel inspired to play with your own clothes. I don’t want to be “just” fashion, or lifestyle, or beauty… I want my feed to be a little weird, a little bold, and a lot about celebrating self-expression without rules. And I hope that, as someone balancing law and fashion, I can continue showing women that you don’t have to pick between being professional and being fearless.
